I could have waited until the designated Tuesday, but it’s been so long since I had a new page for you guys that HOORAY, stealth Saturday night update!

Part of the reason this page took so long is that it has definitely been the hardest Ashes page to draw thus far. Action scenes can be tricky, but emotional scnes are far trickier. Trying to convey the proper amount of emotion without it becoming ridiculously exaggerated is a fine balance (and I also discovered how hard it is to draw a character vomiting while making sure their head gets clipped by the edge of the panel so I don’t have to draw the vomit (because yuck; I’d rather draw a pile of bloody corpses than vomit. OH WAIT, I did)). And this page ended up becoming so intricate that I had to draw it across two separate sheets of paper and then superimpose them together in photoshop.

And buckle up- this is just the beginning of all the trauma-drama we have to look forward to as the story unfolds.
