I deleted my Gumroad store. This has been a long time coming; the service was constantly making changes that forced us creators to put in massive amounts of work to keep our shops up to date. In the past year we had to create and add all new thumbnails (a VERY time-consuming process), had all of our customisation stripped out, and finally had the cut Gumroad takes increased for all but the most successful shops, heavily punishing us small creators (not to mention they never offered combined shipping on multiple different products, and while they technically had a shopping cart option, I never figured out how to access it). Their foray into blockchain tech and their CEO’s recent Twitter meltdown was simply the nail in the coffin.

I’m not entirely sure whether my digital files will stay in my customers’ libraries now that my account is deleted. However, I saved a record of all my sales, so if you bought something from my shop and need the files, please email me with the same address you used to purchase your ebook and/or PDF and I will personally send them to you.

While you cannot currently purchase anything from me, I will be building my own shop here on my website very soon; one in which I will have much better control and will no longer have to deal with Gumroad’s fees. I’ll still need to deal with Paypal’s, though, so it’s likely that I’m going to bundle a lot of my PDFs together and the prices on eBooks will be raised by a few dollars. I LOVE the idea that a reader can buy something for as little as $1 to show support, but unfortunately, flat rate fees really eat into small purchases, and I was only seeing a few cents from them.
