    Some things just don’t translate to text. That’s why graphic novels / webcomics / manga exist. I’ve actually come to prefer this kind of medium over traditional books, partially because they’re a quicker read, but also because it’s amazing how much story can be told without a word. I also enjoy seeing facial expressions rather than reading “he said with facial expression 58”.

    And I’ve always preferred the written word. Probably because I grew up reading voraciously, but didn’t read any story-based comics until I was a teenager- and no manga until I was nearly in my twenties. I still believe my comics could be written as novels if done correctly. Eryl especially, as it was originally intended to BE a novel before I translated it into a comic. Thus the huge walls of narration text in the beginning. -_-* Sometimes I still hope that if I can hone my writing skills I could be a novelist, but I will likely always be a visual storyteller.
