You can try to silence me
You can try to make me behave
And act according to your ways
But you can’t quench the fire
That burns inside
Just look into my eyes
And you will see
You will never own me

Couldn’t sleep, so this happened instead.
Who could silence fire?
or make it be tame?
make it burn by command?
None can douse that flame
which rages deep within
Through the window of the soul,
it shines, as a beacon
Declaring, “You will never own me.”

Sorry I kinda disappeared these past few months. Have a response poem as a make-up present? Life’s been pretty crazy up here at school, and now I’ve got a real grown-up job, I’m moving into my first apartment this Tuesday, I fell in love in the meanwhile (and boy oh boy could I rave about this guy), and there’s still no convenient internet access out here. Might be awhile before I can get internet out to my apartment, though. Kinda forgot to ask about the wifi situation and money’s gonna be tight at first.
Anyhow, despite the lack of comments, I’ve still been checking the comics where I can with my phone. (I can only get wifi on my phone from a friend’s room, and I can’t justify ignoring my friends to stare at my phone for ten minutes to type out what I want to say. I’m slow enough to word my comments when I have a proper keyboard!)
Long comment made short, still alive, still busy, gonna get busier, and still love all of your work. 😀
