Pokémon ChaosBlack

So my friends came to visit me today, and as usual they had some geeky gifts for me. One of them was this GBA game called Pokémon ChaosBlack. Never heard of it? That’s okay, neither had I until recently. Evidently it is a fan-made ROM of FireRed and LeafGreen for the GBA. ROMs are normally illegal copies of games that were pirated, but since the makers of this game didn’t technically sell them, then legal action was never taken. My friends found it at someone’s yard sale and picked it up for me, still in the original shrink wrap.

After much hemming and hawing I finally decided to open it…

I was warned that it might not even start up as it’s a pretty bad and glitchy rip, but as you can see, I got through the very beginning at least.

I heard it kinda breaks down shortly after where I’ve left off, but it’s a cool novelty and a little bit of a collector’s item for hardcore pokémon fans, so I’m proud to have one, even if it’s not totally, uh, legal.

Shivae! Now Updating

Those of you who have followed me from the very beginning, ie those who read Shivae back when I coloured it in 2004-2006 will be very happy to know that after an almost 3 year hiatus, it’s updating again! I am once more colouring the pages drawn and written by Tiffany Ross. If you like my comics (especially Ashes fans) you will probably like Shivae as well. Tiff describes it as ‘Bambi with carnivorous dinosaurs.’ If you like dragons, griffons, and dinosaurs with a sci-fi twist and also enjoy animal stories (like Watership Down or Farthing Wood) you’ll like this one. :)

It gets worse before it gets better

I’m currently upgrading the main page of FL Studios, so it’s going to look very messy for a day or two. Stay tuned, though, for a spiffy new theme!

EDIT: Finished! ….And likely before anyone noticed I was even changing things. That was my fastest ever redesign, and excuse me while I go collapse from exhaustion.

Announcement! Working on Shivae

Those of you who read comics by both me and Tiffany Ross may have guessed it from last week’s vote incentive, but I’ll make the official announcement now: I will once more be working with her on her comic, Shivae, as a colourist. I’ll let you all know when it starts updating again as soon as I find out myself. I think she mentioned something about August or September. Though this does sadly mean that Ashes will have to go on break again. I know, I know, I just took it off! :( I’ll let the pages I already have finished update, but then it’s going to be switched to ‘infrequently sporadic’ while I’m working with Tiffany.

An Apology for the Angst

Those of you who followed me on DeviantART will most likely have seen my last journal about leaving the site- if not permanently, then and least for a good while. I was kinda afraid to go back and read the comments left under the journal because I expected a lot of them to be tellings-off for sounding like and angsty jerk about not getting enough feedback because I think my art is so great. -_-*. Reading it again, I hadn’t meant to sound like such an ass, but depression and angst will do that to you. I just wanted to apologise for the overall tone of that good-bye message. It would probably be best to go apologise ON Devart, but I’m afraid of going back and being tempted to post art which would just perpetuate the depression and feelings of worthlessness. In any case, I did finally read the comments, and was touched by every one being a message of support and sorrow at my leaving. I’m really thankful for the small number of people who DO follow me and I really appreciate the kind words. I’m sorry for being such a tortured artist. I don’t want to be this way, it just seems to be how I am. I wish I was the cheerful sort, but unfortunately, sometimes I have to angst to get all the negative feelings out. Thank you all for bearing with me during those times and sending support instead of reprimands. For surely the latter would be very destructive, as I already mentally beat myself up enough without others helping. :P
