I like playing with fire!
Originally I had our dorm being burned down. But these comics have to pass through a censcor, and since it’s a christian college, it must be appropriate for 7 year olds (I don’t get it either). Anyway, I had to replace our dorm with an image of NY burning down. Because somehow our dorm burning is an act of terrorism, but our state is not.
Keep her away from organic chemistry. I once learned how to make TNT…and learned in such detail that I know exactly why I DON’T want to mess around with making TNT (unless I have more training, proper equipment, and all the requisite permits).
Granted, you get a nice, high-energy, and STABLE explosive that you can set on fire, bounce off a wall, and it won’t go off without a proper blasting cap.
The problem is that there are at least 3 times in the process where you have less-than-stable and touchy-as-hell precursors and side products which can act as an unwitting blasting cap.
On the other hand, JPL got started in a similar fashion, with college students playing around with explosives…
Addendum…maybe she could be chasing exploding squirrels.
